Jessie has managed to defy the odds, overcoming a severe hearing loss and achieving a Black Belt. She seemed to have it all, a handsome and devoted boyfriend, success as a karate instructor…until now.

On the cusp of graduating from high school, a shocking injury changes her life. With her heart shattered and her faith destroyed, she finds herself headed in a new direction all alone. As she leaves for college, she needs to find the courage to conquer her self-doubt and rediscover hope before it’s too late.
I have really enjoyed watching Jessie grow in these books. She has really worked really hard to get where she needs to be in life and not only is that a good think but at times it can be bad.
When one of the really things going for her takes a dive so to speak we see how hurt and frustrated she becomes. We get to see that even though she is strong she is still a big soft on the inside and we see how she is able to build herself back up.

Jessie really does grow up in this story and it was very nice to see how she handled life, especially in college! I really do love all the characters that are within the story but by far my favorite is Jackson! He just comes across as this fun loving guy, who can relate to what Jessie is going through in a way.
The scenes felt a bit like real life or something that could happen in real life such as a child saying,  "my mom didn't want you to be my teacher because of your hearing loss." "But I like you and you are an awesome teacher." No that quote wasn't exactly in the book but it was in a way understanding where the little girl was coming from when she spoke to Jessie.

Overall a really good story about a young girl who has overcame so much in life and I don't see her stopped yet! I think there is a lot more Jessie can accomplish! She is just learning how much she impacts everyone's life around her even though she may not see it.
